Emily has been saving her money for a year and she finally had enough to buy the iPod Touch. This little purchase coincided nicely with her week long school vacation last week.
She spent hours configuring it to suit her needs and she had a ball in the App Store browsing for little games and activities to do. All of which were learning based, of course.
My only requirement for the Apps was that they needed to be “Free” since she had no money left over. I also had to approve each and every App before she was allowed to install it.
One afternoon while I was trying to get in a bit of blogging she came running to me all excited and begged me to allow her to buy an App for $.99.
I said “No” before I had even given her a chance to tell me what it was for.
And then she told me what the App was.
It was for Tracking Ghosts. We needed this App.
Now, many of you were not here last Halloween, but let’s just say that when your child gets older you need to liven up Halloween a little bit and man oh man did I liven up our Halloween.
We immersed ourselves in everything ghostly. We watched hours of Ghost Hunters and even had our own little (fake) séance.
It was the perfect Halloween for a soon-to-be 10 year old.
So, how do we top that for this year?
We bought the Ghost Hunting App, of course, and we became Ghost Hunters.
Now… let me just say that I totally took this App with a grain of salt despite the plethora of testimonies on the App Website.
First it needs to warm up to the sounds and frequencies and all of that other mumbo jumbo so that it doesn’t give you a false read.
Then once it is warmed up there is a radar that tracks, ummm, ghosts! But then…
It also translates what ghosts are saying and it tells you real words OUT LOUD! How’s that for creepy?
Well, let me tell you that it is creepy. 100% full of the creep my friends.
Now, of course, there weren’t any ghosts or stuff in our house. I mean c’mon, we are selling our house, right?
NO. GHOSTS. HERE.
However, we did have Emily’s conference and Book Fair to go to at her school so we took the Ghost Radar with us. We made sure to get there early enough so that the gizmo would have plenty of time to warm up.
We got nothing.
Not one single sound or blip on the radar, so I put the Radar into my coat pocket and began to browse for books.
I was standing by myself in the Non-Fiction section when all of a sudden my phone (because I bought the App too, duh) went NUTSO. It was talking to me a mile a minute. I pulled it out of my pocket and these were the words it said to me:
I got chills up and down and all over my body and then I looked at what was right in front of me. It was a book about WWII. It was written by Harry somebody or other.
I screamed at Emily to come over to me and it was when she asked if she could sleep with me and Tyler that I turned the App off and we have not turned it back on since.
So what do YOU think? Does this Ghost App have merit? Would you be freaked out like we were, or was it merely a very strong coincidence?
