info:
Hello! I am the author and designer of this site. Established in 2009, I began blogging just to see if people would enjoy what I had to say. Well they did, and the journey that I have been on is truly unbelievable.

I live in Minnesota with my husband, 2 girls and 2 dogs. Oh ya... and my parents live next door.

I bake. I golf. I read. My family comes before everything. And...my real hair color is blond!

My mantra is "Dream until your dreams come true." Want to know more? Subscribe Now!

I write to make you smile. That is my only goal.

I believe there is humor in everything. I find it and write about it. Then you read it and smile. Laughing is appreciated, but optional :-)

info:
To me, The Girl Next Door is someone everyone knows and I believe that I am continually growing up. So there you go --> The Girl Next Door Grows Up!

The blog and the name will grow with me forever. The rainbow is happy, bright and fun - just like this blog. The rainbow has evolved over the years, but so have I!

info:
In 2010, after I hit 600 followers, I had my site designed for me and I moved to WordPress.

I was beginning to learn tiny bits of code and it was 2011, before I said "enough was enough" and I wanted complete control over all design and code. I wanted to know everything!!! So I took a hiatus and I did.

info:
The site you see today is built on WordPress and the Thesis Theme. Bluehost is the only hosting provider I recommend.

I coded the site to be Responsive so no matter what mobile device or tablet you use, the site will look awesome on it and fit to the screen.

I have discovered Image Sprites and when you hover over my header, you get my tagline too :-)

My goal for building this site was to be different and bold and learn as much as I could. I am simply in love with it. I have also fallen in love with CSS and even though the site is done, I might never be done tinkering!
